Terms of Service

Last updated: April 4, 2026

1. Agreement to terms

By creating an account or using Jetty ("Jetty", "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days in advance via email or in-product notice. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of the Service

Jetty provides secure HTTP tunnels that expose local or private applications to the public internet. The Service includes:

  • Tunnel creation and management via the CLI (jetty share) and web dashboard.
  • Public URLs with TLS encryption for accessing your local applications remotely.
  • Team and organization workspaces with role-based access control.
  • Traffic inspection, request sampling, and debugging tools.
  • Reserved subdomains, custom domains, and routing rules.
  • API tokens for automation and CI/CD integration.
  • Webhook signature verification and password-protected tunnels.

We may modify, add, or remove features with reasonable notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability; tunnels depend on network connectivity between your device and our servers.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, personal access tokens, and tunnel agent tokens. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Notify us immediately at support@usejetty.online if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that appear compromised.

You may delete your account at any time from Profile > Account. Deletion removes your personal data, tunnels, and tokens. Organization data shared with other members is retained for the organization.

4. Organizations and teams

Organizations are the top-level entity for billing and administration. Teams exist within organizations and own tunnels, subdomains, and domains. Organization owners control billing, team creation, and member management.

Team roles (Owner, Manager, Developer, Viewer) determine what actions members can perform. Organization admins have elevated access across all teams in the organization. When you join an organization, the organization owner and admins can view your activity within that organization.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including distributing malware, phishing, fraud, or harassment.
  • Expose services that violate applicable laws, export controls, or third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to access other users' tunnels, accounts, or data without authorization.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without written permission.
  • Overload the Service with excessive requests designed to degrade performance for other users.
  • Circumvent rate limits, plan restrictions, or security controls.
  • Use tunnels to host persistent production services (tunnels are designed for development, testing, and temporary sharing).
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written agreement.

We may investigate suspected violations, cooperate with law enforcement, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Repeated or serious violations may result in immediate termination without refund.

6. Your content and traffic

You retain ownership of your applications, code, and data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to transmit, route, and temporarily process your content as necessary to operate tunnels and provide features you enable (traffic inspection, request replay, webhook verification).

You are solely responsible for the content and traffic you expose through tunnels, including compliance with privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), data protection regulations, and third-party terms of service. Do not tunnel traffic containing data you are not authorized to transmit.

Tunnel traffic passes through our edge servers but is not inspected, logged, or stored by default. If you enable traffic inspection, only metadata (method, path, status, headers) is captured, subject to your redaction tier settings.

7. Plans and billing

Jetty offers free and paid plans. Free plans (Dinghy) have limited tunnels, subdomains, and features. Paid plans (Captain, Fleet) unlock higher limits, traffic inspection, custom domains, and priority support.

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Prices, billing cycles, and included features are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel from the Billing section of your dashboard; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

We may change pricing with at least 30 days notice. Price changes apply at your next renewal. If you disagree with a price change, cancel before the next billing cycle.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@usejetty.online within 14 days of a charge for billing disputes.

8. API and CLI usage

The Jetty API and CLI are provided for programmatic access to the Service. API tokens are personal credentials and must not be shared or committed to version control. You are responsible for all actions performed using your tokens.

API usage is subject to rate limits. Exceeding limits results in HTTP 429 responses with Retry-After headers. Do not circumvent rate limits. We may adjust limits based on plan level and system capacity.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, documentation, and branding, is owned by Shafer LLC or its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

The Jetty CLI is distributed as open-source software under its own license. The edge server and dashboard are proprietary.

10. Availability and SLA

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee a specific uptime percentage for free plans. Paid plans may include an SLA as described in your plan documentation. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible.

Tunnel availability depends on your local network, the CLI agent running on your machine, and internet connectivity between your device and our edge servers. We are not responsible for disruptions caused by your local environment.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND AVAILABILITY.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant that tunnels will meet your specific requirements or performance expectations.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JETTY AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE DURING THAT PERIOD, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jetty and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your content or traffic; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party rights.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, legal requirements, or extended inactivity, with notice where practicable.

Upon termination: your tunnels stop working immediately; your data is deleted per our retention policy; any prepaid fees for the remainder of a billing period are forfeited unless required by law.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including: intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

Before filing a claim, you agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting support@usejetty.online. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may proceed with formal proceedings.

16. General provisions

  • Entire agreement -- these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Jetty.
  • Severability -- if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
  • Waiver -- failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment -- you may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure -- neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, war, government actions, internet disruptions).
